Description
A statue in the Chateau Cemetery (Cimitiere du Chateau) in Nice France. It is a large, old cemetery, that overlooks the town of Nice. Created in 1783, the cemetery is situated on Chateau Hill, and has more than 2,800 tombs on terraces. It feature a neo-classical style sarcophagi and neo-Gothic chapels. A pyramidal monument was erected in the cemetery to honour the 200 people who died in the Great Fire of the Opera in 1881. The cemetery has beautiful views overlooking Nice and the Mediterranean. Taken in November 2014.
