Description
Gondolas docked along the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. There are 150 canals running through Venice, which makes Venice a collection of Islands. The Grand Canal is the main channel and forms one of the major water-traffic corridors in the city. Although Venice can be traversed by foot (in an hour) through the walkways and bridges, the more popular mode of transportation is by gondola or vaporetto, also known as a water bus or a water taxi. Taken in September 2009.
